Kite spots:
1)Progreso, which is a quiet little
town not crowd at all. Forget about party’s although a few nice restaurants in
town. two kite school you can kite in the" PLAYON" Pretty flat water good wind N/ NE/NW Also with off shore wind there is a large lagoon whit flat water too but gusty wind. good wind S/SE
2)Tulum: not really windy but when is wind is extremely beautiful. nice town a little touristic far from the beach and several kite schools. Nice waves !!!Very friendly people good wind SE/ E/ NE
3)Isla Blanca very shallow, super flat!! good wind SE/ E/ NE not much accommodation very close to Cancun. only one Italian kite school
4)Playa del Carmen and Cozumel: Waves and choppy not very windy. Half way on the road in between Cancun and Tulum. From Playa del Carmen, you can take a ferry to Cozumel Island in the other side of the island with SW/SE wind you can kite in difficult water condition waves and choppy... but beautiful island good to rent a motorbike and drive around or take a snorkeling tour.
5)Holbox. paradise island, sandy roads, you can kite in the point at the end of the small island beautiful condition strong wind and super flat water sometimes shallow. the Mexican champion belongs to the island and he trains hard !! there is a kite school as for Gabo.
Temperature: 26 – 35 Celsius
Wind: KUKULCAN (The Mayan’s God of the
Wind) switches on the thermal North East winds (side on shore) to 18 – 22 knots almost every
afternoon! In the winter KUKULCAN gets cold (but still very warm) and angry throwing them a storm
almost every week from the North (on shore) with winds from 25 – 35 knots! Fun!!

How to get there: get a flight to Cancun
and then bus to Tulum o Playa del Carmen.
From Cancun to Isla Blanca only renting car.
From Cancun to Holbox bus and then ferry.
From Playa del Carmen to Cozumel by Ferry .
From Cancun to Progreso, a bus to Merida city (about 35 US) and a taxi or bus to Progreso town or, take
a flight to Merida city and take the a bus for
16 pesos or a taxi for 250 pesos (about 20 US)
Other activities:
Mexico has a lot of Native history so do not leave without Visiting the Mayan ruins, in Dzibichatun, close to Merida, or in Tulum o Chichen Itazan!!

The diving is great! The second largest
barrier reef in the world is highly recommended, Playa del Carmen, Isla Blanca
and Tulum beach where you can also kite
and enjoy the Cenotes for swimming and
diving in a nice fresh water hole, caves swim with the "ballena tiburon" and enjoy paradise beach.
Also visit Cozumel Island, kayak in the mangroves and check
out local shopping.

Dinking water: do not drink water from the
tap! Get a bottle of water always.
Food: enjoy traditional Mexican food,
Guacamole, tacos, burritos, great Margaritas and Tequila!
Accommodation: There some hostels at about 10
dollars a night. There are also a few cheap hotels 150 - 250 pesos
Cancun, is very commercial and touristic easy to find accommodation.
Playa del Carmen, very Hippie so you get options from deferments budgets
Tulum, a little more expensive if you stay on the beach . if you stay on town you need to rent a car or take the local bus.
Holbox, has beautiful hostels at good price and very clean no asphalt on the street all sand!!!
Progreso, you can stay in the Kite Beach Yucatan
villa in front of the beach for 65 dollars per night
