November also makes a good kitesurf holiday at Spanish Point, but you
probably will find acceptable kitesurf conditions only on 17-18 days per
month. Kitesurf Weather then will most likely be 17 kt from northern

The location and the Village
Greece, officially the Hellenic Republic, is a country in southeastern Europe, situated on the southern end of the Balkan Peninsula. Rhodes is a Greek island approximately 18 kilometres southwest of Turkey in eastern Aegean Sea. It is the largest of the Dodecanese islands in terms of both land area and population, with a population of 117,007 of which 53,709 resided in the homonymous capital city of the island.
Prasonisi is a beautiful spot in Rhodes. The sea is split in two parts. This creates a flat (offshore winds) and a wave spot (onshore) at the same time.

The climate of Rhodes is a mild Mediterranean climate characterised by sunny and dry summers and mild winters. Refreshing breezes and winds are blowing during the months of July and August, making the temperatures more bearable. In the summer the avarage temperature is 30°C.

The beach in Prasonisi is a big sandy beach, around 500meters. Cars are allowed so in summer it can be crowded by bystanders and cars. With strong winds and high tide the water can get very high. The offshore area are mostly used by windsurfers.

The water is crystal clear and has a temperature of 24°C in the summer months. So you don't need a wetsuit in these warm months. This spot offers flat water but also waves. On the east of the peninsular the water is pefectly flat. On the west side you can have fun with some medium size waves created
The wind conditions
The Meltemi wind on Rhodes is thermal. The wind on Prasonisi gets stronger because of the two mountains at the ends of the beach. The Meltemi blows from the northwest from June to August and is onshore and offshore. The wind begins easy in the morning and gets stronger in the midday. In other months the Tramontana can blow.

You can use all facilities on this spot. There are a couple of restaurants and a mini shop.

The sandy beach is medium sized (600meters). The beach is not crowded. Watch out for some stones/shells/trees/cars on the beach.

Kite Spot: St Martin – Caribbean
La temporada de viento en el caribe comienza en diciembre y finaliza en junio cuando comienza la temporada de huracanes hasta noviembre.
El viento ronda entre los 15 y 30 nudos durante la temporada que es casi todo el ano. La temperatura ambiente es aproximadamente de 26 a 30 grados Celsius y del agua 28 Celsius. En general no hace falta traje de neopreno.
Los spots de kite están todos ubicados del lado francés al noreste de la isla y son:
1-Orient Bay: donde el viento es “side on shore /on shore” generalmente mas fuertes por la mañana baja al medio día y al atardecer a veces vuelve a levantar. El agua es algo choppy. A veces según el swell es posible practicar surf. Se accede por tierra en bus o auto.
2-Pinel Island: es una isla desierta. Hay dos puntos para navegar según el viento del noreste o del sudeste ambos con olas y mucho reef.
Solo se accede por barco a la playa principal en donde hay un bar. En esta playa el viento no es bueno pero si el viento es noreste se hace un embudo con la isla principal de st Martín y al costado derecho el viento corre franco y el agua es plana ideal para Freestyle. Solo se accede en barco.
3-Green Cay: esta ubicada justo en frente de Orient bay. Solía tener una playa pero los huracanes la desterraron siendo un spot solo para surfear olas en sus laterales. Detrás de la isla el viento es arrechado y se arma el equipo de kite en la playa de Orient Bay solo se accede kiteando o en barco.
4- Le Galion: también spot de surf muy lindo spot de kitesurf y surf. Según dicen es parque nacional y no se debería practicar kite pero algunos kiters se pueden ver los días de buen viento el spot se caracteriza por ser una bahía que recibe vientos noreste, este y sudeste. Algo de reef pero la condición del agua es bastante plana ya que esta protegido por una barrera de reef donde se forman las olas.
Se accede por tierra en bus o en auto.
5-Tintamar: para kite del lado sudeste de la isla con vientos del este y sudeste es un spot de agua plana pero mucho reef. Del lado oeste de puede practicar kite pero si bien el agua es plana, el viento es off shore y arrechado cerca de la orilla. Solo se accede en barco.
6-Terra base: con vientos del norte noreste y noroeste agua bastante plana y un secret spot muy pequeno de agua plana solo para expertos.

Para surfear los spots están ubicados del lado francés y son:
1-Tintamar: al costado izquierdo de la bahía donde se permiten barcos se accede a la isla en barco ya la spot remando en tu tabla. Solo con swell noreste o norte
2-Le Galion: ideal para todos los niveles muy amigable incluso hay una escuela de surf y alquiler la ola es de izquierda. Y se accede desde la bahía de “Le Galion” por tierra.
3-Wilderness: también al norte de la isla de st martín solo cuando el swell entra noreste y la ola es de derecha y se accede por tierra en Grandes Cayes.
Otras actividades que se pueden realizar:
Se pueden practicar otros deportes acuáticos como stand up paddle surf, snorkeling, buceo, kayaking, navegar a vela, pesca, jet ski, Hobby Cat,
Hay muchísimos caminos para hacer trekking, rapel, andar en bicicleta, recorrer la isla en four tracks, visitar los fuertes históricos etc.
Un poco de información sobre la isla:
St. Martín es una isla ubicada en mitad francesa y mitad ex holandesa ahora dependiente desde el 2010. Las lenguas que se hablan son ingles y francés y español también debido a la inmigración desde dominica y dominicana especialmente.
La moneda es Euro en un lado y del otro el “Guilder” pero se puede pagar en dólares en ambos lados. La electricidad es 110Vde lado holandés y 220v del lado francés. Tiene un aeropuerto internacional “Princes Juliana” del lado holandés y uno regional del lado francés. Muchos súper yacht en la laguna de “Simpson Bay” y mucho Duty free Shopping en Phillisburg en donde arriban todos los cruceros.
La actividad económica de la isla es el turismo. La isla esta llena de vida hay muchas cosas para hacer. Los martes en Gran Case se realiza el mercado en la calle. Todos los atardeceres en Sunset bar detrás del aeropuerto Juliana se pueden apreciar como aterrizan los aviones sobre la playa. Caminar por la marinas de Simpson Bay para apreciar los mega yachtes, el mercado de “Marigot” y su Pastelería francesa discotecas al lado del aeropuerto. La fiesta de full moon en friar’s bay etc.
